Heritage Christian Academy 3rd Grade Students Earn 2nd Place at McWane Science Center Competition

BESSEMER, AL — Heritage Christian Academy is proud to announce that its 3rd grade classes earned 2nd place at the McWane Science Center’s Celebration of Science competition.

Earlier this year, the students were awarded a grant that allowed them to design and develop a hands-on science project. Their project, titled “Dynamic Boundaries: How Plates Shape Our World,” explored the movement and impact of Earth’s tectonic plates. Through research, creativity, and collaboration, the students demonstrated a strong understanding of how shifting plates influence earthquakes, mountains, and the ever-changing surface of our planet.

The project not only highlighted scientific concepts but also showcased the students’ critical thinking, teamwork, and presentation skills. Competing against other schools, the HCA 3rd graders impressed judges with both their knowledge and enthusiasm, ultimately earning a top placement in the competition.

Heritage Christian Academy celebrates the hard work of these young learners and the dedication of their teachers who guided them throughout the process. This achievement reflects the school’s commitment to academic excellence and hands-on learning experiences that inspire curiosity and discovery.
