Bessemer, AL — IMMEDIATE RELEASE — Heritage Christian Academy is proud to announce the appointment of Everett Robinson as its new Head Football Coach. A lifelong student and fan of the game, Robinson brings passion, energy, and a commitment to character development that aligns perfectly with HCA’s mission.
Robinson is no stranger to the gridiron. A former standout player at Shades Valley High School and Vanderbilt University, he credits much of his coaching foundation to legendary mentors like Robert Higginbotham and Woody Widenhofer. Prior to this appointment, he worked with the HCA football team, helping build relationships and trust with returning players.
“I am so excited about the opportunity to lead THIS group of young men,” he said. “I look forward to developing not only athletes, but also well-rounded, respectable individuals. I’m grateful to God for the opportunity to be part of a program that values character, hard work, and team spirit.”
Robinson’s coaching philosophy is rooted in a principle he calls F.E.A.R. — Focus, Effort, Attitude, and Responsibility. “I teach kids how to focus on the details, give 110% effort at all times, maintain a positive attitude, and understand their responsibility to themselves and the team,” he explained.
His short-term goals include strengthening relationships with players and continuing to shape a culture of respect and positivity. Long-term, he’s focused on developing young men who excel both on and off the field. “Oh, and wins,” he added with a smile. “Lots and lots of wins!”
When asked what he hopes the HCA community knows about him, he keeps it simple: “FUN! Let’s go!!! ”
