At Heritage Christian Academy, our 7th grade Geography class learned how to locate and label the Earth’s hemispheres, equator, and prime meridian. To make these topics more engaging and tangible, students brought an orange and used it to locate and label key elements of a globe. After completing their orange globe, students then discovered the four common map projects as they peeled their orange apart, just like the Earth’s crust!
