When you walk into the HCA Athletic Complex at Flint Hill Baptist Church, it is hard to believe the improvements that have been made in just ten short months. Despite the vast improvements and beautiful facilities that now house the Heritage Christian Academy “Eagle’s Nest”, there are still several plans for continued improvements and additions. To aid in these capital improvements, Heritage hosted their 2nd annual Golf Tournament but in a new location.
This year’s tournament took place on Monday, April 19t. Over 100 golfers of all ages enjoyed began the day with a shotgun start followed by 18 holes of golf in a four person scramble on the magnificent greens of the Bent Brook Golf Course. The tournament was made possible by the 35 sponsors which helped the Athletics Booster to a raise a net $16,500 to go toward the continued improvement and development of our athletic facilities. The next two projects that these monies will help with are the buildout of our locker rooms and weight room, and a new gym floor.
Heritage has enjoyed many athletic successes this year including two state championships – one in Cross Country and the other in Boys Basketball. The volleyball program continues to grow and improve as well as the baseball and softball programs. The coaches at HCA look forward to continuing to grow and use the tool of athletic competition to encourage students in developing a Christ-like attitude and lifestyle.
